Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes Raises Record Funds for Englewood's Free Annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks on Thursday, July 3rd
Mayor Wildes greeted residents on the lawn of the Dwight Morrow High School campus last Thursday, July 3rd, during the Annual July 3rd Concert and Fireworks. The celebration has once again endeared itself to Englewood and the neighboring communities as it brought together the wonderful diversity of Englewood . Mayor Wildes gave t-shirts inscribed with "Let's Celebrate Englewood 2008" in the spirit of July 4th. The event was co-sponsored at NO TAX PAYER EXPENSE by Hekemian, Town Motor, Smokey Joes, Englewood Hospital, HSBC, Studio 6 Photography, Bergen County Camera, Blue Moon Mexican Cafe, Commerce Bank, MDK Development/Flat rock, Martin Cadillac, Mark Gallery, Citibank and Benzel Busch.

of free ice cream were also given courtesy of Ice Cream on Grand in Englewood.
* * * Mayor Michael Wildes has raised a record $37,500 for this annual event, at no taxpayer expense (includes police and fire personnel overtime). This patriotic celebration of our nation's independence has been made possible by generous donations from individuals and businesses in the local community. The festivities are sponsored by the Mayor and the following community businesses: Hekemian, Town Motor, Smokey Joes, Englewood Hospital, HSBC, Studio 6 Photography, Bergen County Camera, Blue Moon Mexican Cafe, Commerce Bank, MDK Development/Flatrock, Martin Cadillac, Mark Gallery, Citibank and Benzel Busch . Fireworks demonstrations have been historically intertwined with the celebration of America's liberty, and Englewood is honored to share in this national tradition. Since the first Independence Day celebrations, held in New Jersey and across our young nation over 230 years ago, proud Americans have paid tribute to the birth of their country with fireworks and music. Mayor Wildes invites all to join this year's celebration of freedom in the 2008 Free Annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks on Thursday, July, 3rd. The concert and fireworks will take place on the lawn of Dwight Morrow/Academies at Englewood High School, Knickerbocker Road, beginning at 7:30PM. A live concert by the Alan Quinn Orchestra will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display after dusk. Rain date, Sunday July 6. The Mayor arranged for a portion of the funds to be donated to "Englewood Creates" Come see the outstanding work of 80 Englewood artists - held in our landmark Dwight Morrow High School (Same date; July 3, 1 pm to 7:30)
